Labor Day weekend activities in Wisconsin
Staying home this Labor Day weekend and looking for something to do? The children are back in school and all of their supplies and clothes are purchased, so no need to spend your time in the mall.
There are a lot of outdoor activities going on this weekend and here are a few to consider:
Oktoberfest at The Schwabenhof. For more information visit http://www.UDoMmilwaukee.com There are activities going on Sat.-Mon., Sept. 4-6th!
Maxwell Street Days-Cedarburg, Wisconsin: Looking for a huge rummage? Maybe something for the child that just went off to college to finish the look of their new dorm room or house? What a great place to spend Sunday, September 5th. To view add’l information: http://www.cedarburgfiredept.com/services/maxwell_street_days.htm. Don’t forget to visit the downtown area after leaving Maxwell Street. The stores and restaurants are open and remember Amy’s Apples - it’s a perfect time of year to have a special caramel apple!!
September 4th can be spent looking at art if that is something of interest. You have a couple different places you can go:
“Walk In The Woods Art Fair” in Kenosha: http://www.hawthornhollow.org/artfair.html. I have been there in the past and it is a gorgeous place to visit. Not only is there art, but music and fun for the kids(face painting).
There is also the “Gallery Walk” in Oshkosh. This goes on every 1st Saturday of the month from 6pm-9pm, in downtown Oshkosh, and Labor Day weekend is no exception. For add’l info visit http://www.oshkoshgallerywalk.com.
And you are now saying.. okay, I am going up to Oshkosh at night, what am I going to do during the day? Well, if you are hungry for corn and love cars, you can stop at the “Wisconsin Street Rod Association Corn Roast and Car Show” in Fond du Lac.
Visit: http://www.wirod.com for all the pertinent information. This is going on both Sept. 4th and 5th.
Sept. 4th and 5th can also be spent up in Madison at the “Taste of Madison.” Madison has so many great restaurants and this event showcases them! Visit http://tasteofmadison.com for times and add’l information. What a fun way to spend an extended weekend in a great city… just eat and drink your way through the days!
